SUNNYVALE, Calif., – March 16, 2011 – Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARUN), a leading provider of mobile access network solutions, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the “Leaders” quadrant of its recently released “Magic Quadrant for Wireless LAN Infrastructure (Global)” report.*

The report notes, “The expectations of wireless connectivity continue to grow, as workers in remote offices visit the headquarters, and where newer employees look at wired connectivity not only as legacy, but even archaic, technology.” It further says, “Momentum continues to grow for a single vendor at the edge of the network capable of providing switches and access points, as well as differentiating network services that will consolidate security and management and provide a better and more-cohesive end-user experience.”

The Magic Quadrant evaluates vendors based on two criteria, “ability to execute” and “completeness of vision”. It includes a summary view of each vendor, as well as an assessment of vendor “strengths” and “cautions”.

“Aruba believes its placement in the Leaders quadrant of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Wireless LAN Infrastructure (Global) is affirmation of our position in the market and the efficacy of our unique, mobility-centric approach to access networking,” said Dominic Orr, president and CEO of Aruba. “The next generation of access networks will be driven by the increasingly mobile workforce, the proliferation of smartphones and tablets and the continued virtualization of computing resources. These dynamics are having a profound impact on today’s IT departments, and drastically change how we think about network access moving forward. Simply put, the LAN, as we knew it, is dead.”

Please also see the announcements made by Aruba on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 outlining its Mobile Virtual Enterprise (MOVE) architecture and new mobility “on-ramps”. Featuring multiple innovations across wireless, wired and cloud-based mobility services, Aruba’s MOVE architecture enables the development of a converged wireless and wired network that costs far less to deploy and operate than legacy wired architectures.
